| COACHES Kirk L. Perry, Esq Coach Kirk has been involved in AAU basketball for over 20 years. He attended Oberlin high school where he played three years of varsity basketball, four years varsity track and baseball and three years in football. Perry's team was Conference champs in basketball and Perry led his team in rushing his junior and senior season graduating in the top 10 rushers in Oberlin History. Perry attended college in New York (Hamilton College); he received his Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve, and is working on his Masters in Public Administration at UDC. Perry is currently a Senior Attorney/Policy Analyst for the U.S. Federal Government in Washington, DC. Perry's coaching ability and skills go back to his years at Hamilton College where he served as an intern for two years. Perry served as the Director and coach of Lorain County Midnight basketball League for three years. He became the Head coach at Oberlin middle school for two years where his team finished undefeated at 30-0 and won two conference titles. Perry has been coaching AAU for 20 years the program is called Next Level. Perry qualified for the AAU Nationals 18 times, highest finish 2009 AAU National Invitational Showcase C0-Champs, 2010 AAU National Invitational Showcase Silver Lower Division Winners, 2008 AAU u16 National Classic Champions, 1992 (11th), 1995 (7th), USSA 2nd 1999 Nationals, and in 2004 (5th), 2005 (16th), 2006 (All American Cage Classic National Champs, 2nd Adidas Nationals & 9th AAU Naitonals) . Perry has coached some great players including Shay Selby (Regina High School) Duke, Karisma Penn (Illinois), Lillian Pitts (Miami of Ohio), Ciera Harris (Dayton), Shelly Warren (Ohio Domminican), Myesha Perkins (University of Missouri). Layla Willis (St. Josephs in New York). Anitra Williams (Cleveland State). Heather & Rachel Barbee (Oberlin High School) who played ball at Oberlin College. Lucrezia Baker (Tiffin) and Shyla Henry (Kansas), Thad & Tori Davis (Elyria Open Door) All time leading scorers and rebounders in Baldwin Wallace History (one after the other), Robert Nelson (Elyria High's all time leading Scorer) Evansville University.l Perry works in Washington, DC, makes the commitment to fly back to Cleveland, Perry, will run the Elite Girls Team and he will also run his Next Level boys programs. Reginald Floyd Coach Floyd is a native of Akron, Ohio and has been a successful member of the Akron Firestone Girls program for the past decade. During his time there as a coach, the program has won an unprecedented 8 City Series Championships in 10 years. During that time Coach Floyd has been central to the production of at least 2 Division one athletes each year. Including Timira Davis and Ciera Harris. Coach Floyd is a graduate of Buchtel and attended Akron University where he excelled in football before getting an associate degree from Florida State. Coach Floy6d is in charge of event coordination and planning and has helped Next Level Develop a universially recognized program of events that has hosted national talent and players including coaches from the top ten colleges and universities. Prior to joining Next Level Coach Floyd founded and coordinated the renouned Akron Lady Hawks AAU program, whichi is credited with helping numerous Summit County players with moving on to the Next Level. Coach Floyd has been with Next Level since 2007. FRIENDS OF THE PROGRAM Bryce Seymour, Director of the CAVS AAU Team Bryce is a resident of Madison, Ohio in Lake County and is a graduate of Madison High School where he was a standout on the baseball team and later graduated from Ohio State College with a degree in accounting and aviation and holds a private pilots license and in his former life was a licensed captain with the coast guard. Bryce coached the freshman at Madison High School to a freshman championship, and for six years worked with athletes throughout the Madison system to develop skills. Last season Bryce coached his team to a league championship in the North East Ohio Fall league, winning the 15 & Under and reaching the semi-finals in the 17 & Under Division. Bryce started the Geneva Cav's in 1998 with one team and expanded to 5 teams and assisted in setting up another 5 teams. Bryce has three sons and two participated in the program and one who is now in the 9th grade. Bryce will be coaching the affiliated Cav's Teams during the season. Advisors One of the special features about the Select Team is it will have a pool of advisors to help guide the team and set long term goals. The advisors will be Corey Milbert Coach Cleveland Basketball Club In high school Corey was a three-year varsity starter. Corey graduated in the top 15% of his high school class. Corey was a two-time all city, all county and all- state player. Corey scored over 1000 points and gathered over 800 rebounds in high school career. Corey received a full basketball scholarship to Howard University. Corey started the last two years of his college career were he received honorable-mention all-conference his senior year. Corey received his degree in Recreational Therapy in 1995. Corey played AAU basketball for C.B.C. two tears and qualified for the AAU Nationals both times 1991 (top 30th) and 1992 (11th place). Corey stayed in the D.C. area after graduating and spent two years on the staff of powerhouse AAU team DC Metro Boys/Girls. Corey will bring some big men experience to the program along with the ability to motivate and teach players the basic skills of the game. Corey also has great X and O knowledge of the game. Professor Malcolm Cash, MFA --- Academic Coordinator Trainer/Coach Girls Mr. Malcolm Cash works with Next Level AAU as an educational advisor. Mr. Cash is from Lorain Ohio,. Mr. Cash previously coached the Girls High School Program for Next Level and to his credit has placed over 10 girls from his team in D1 programs. Mr. Cash is currently a professor at Lorain County Community College and has an MFA in English as well as significant progress towards his Doctor in Divinity. He is married and has a daughter in the 10th grade and also played for Next Level, and a step daughter who played for Next Level before being offered a D2 scholarship. Mr. Cash has agreed to commit his time and energy to working with and counseling young Next Level Student Athletes about the ACT, SAT and other scholastic tests. He is also on board to assist Next Level youngsters and their parents in developing an academic curriculum for their high school classes, and also for preparing for the next level of academic performance. Michael Duncan Director of ADIDAS SPONSORED CBC Boys Program Mike graduated from Max S. Hayes high school and is the school all-time leading scorer and assist leader. Mike started college career at U. of Minnesota before transferring to University of Oklahoma-Bartlesville. While there he was named player of the year his senior season, while scoring over 1500 Mike joined AAU under Melvin Banchek in 1985. Banchek retired in 1990 to focus on his family and law office, which is located in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. Cleveland Basketball Club started with one team (17/under) and have expanded over the years and Currently start with 5th grade thru 12th graders. Mike has coached Cleveland Basketball Club to 7 straight 17/under AAU Nationals Championship placements with the highest finish being final-four. Adidas Bigtime Started in 1995 and has made "Sweet 16" four times and elite eight twice. Also has final four appearance in the AAU Nationals Senior Division, 16/under and elite 8 AAU National championship appearances. Mike has been employed by the Cuyahoga County Board of Retardation since 1985. He is also the only Adidas Rep Stationed in Ohio, and currently runs a college scouting service and an Ohio high school web site. Starting the fall of 2003 Mike started releasing a basketball magazine for the public called (Voices) which will be released four times a year. He is also on the state committee for the McDonald All-American game, selection committee for The Ohio/PA senior all-star game, select Ohio players for the prestige Adidas ABCD Camp and selection committee for Adidas All-American game. In 2007, Mike Duncan changed the name of the boys Cleveland Basketball Club to "Ohio Basketball Club" to honor the fact that his organization had become a state wide group that competes on the National level. Mike has contact with over 300 college coaches on all levels along with several scouting services. He also runs an exposure showcase in September. He has worked numerous NBA summer showcase camps or free agents under Craig Neal (Toronto Raptors), Kiwi V. (Denver), Joe Prunty (San Antonio Spurs), John Loyer (Portland), Brent Johnson (Houston), Kenny Williamson (New York) on October 19, 2002 Mike was named one ot the top fifty in the City of Cleveland history |
